RG3

RG3

I can’t believe it is week 2 of the 2013 NFL season. Well my beloved Redskins had a poor first half and sorry but I did ask myself should they put the backup quarterback in. But in the second half, they really showed some of what got us so excited to watch them before the painful end to last season. Robert Griffin III, by the end of the game looked like there would be something spectacular to look forward to in the coming weeks. He had to test that repaired knee out and he did. He took hits, ran, threw and helped the Redskins to run up 2o second half points in a loss to Michael Vick, who by the way looked very sharp, and the Philadelphia Eagles, 33-27 on Monday night.

Looking good there RG3. Only you know how you feel out there. Looking good.

Power in the Midst of…

How do we keep a fresh and positive outlook when there is so much ugliness in the world? Well I keep hearing this line that says, “be in it but not of it”.  Be in it but not of it.  Wow.  I’m human. I see the hurtful things and the evil that is out there. How do I keep that stuff away from me and those I care about. Well I’m not so sure that that’s how it works.

First of all, what am I controlling? Not much if I look around. Things break down all the time from a mental, spiritual, physical perspective. No control there. Even with the best training and prayer, no control. Two teams pray to win prior to the start of a game. Only one team wins. Prayer doesn’t control the outcome but it influences our mood. Builds our courage and faith. It is a ritual to get us into the zone of action. It is a place to stand confidently not an end result.

When you feel low, do something that builds positive energy around you. Take time to be grateful for the small things. Take a moment to love yourself and then those around you. Breathe and know that all is well in the real world. Maybe not in the illusion of the real world you may have of the real world, but out in the universe we are a small planet spinning around in space. A dot on the map of the cosmos. Get over yourself and start to live. No matter what is going on. Be straight with how you feel then create the new refreshed you with your own inner power.  Things maybe better than you think and you haven’t seen the end yet. Keep the faith. Start small and take one powerful action toward the life you want. You can have it.

Peace,

TW

There’s Nothing Better Than Love

This past June, my dear friend, writing partner and college classmate, Reggie Staggers, invited me out to Maryland to record this song with his brother Marc Staggers. This is our tribute to Luther Vandross and Gregory Hines. Marc’s rich voice sounds quite a bit like Luther. We recorded the song and turned some cameras on and here’s what we came up with. Reggie produced all of the music. Reggie and Marc are incredibly talented. We miss Luther and Gregory. I hope you appreciate it.

Michael Colyar’s Morning Show

Check me out today at 3pm pst on rmconair.com.

The Michael Colyar Morning Show.  We’ll be chatting on the internet station, so you’ll see and hear us.  Michael is a great comedian whom I know from his days as the hottest comedian on Venice Beach.  He used to have a long grabber type device and he would snatch dollars out of people’s hands.  Then he won Star Search and gave $50,000 to the homeless community.  I hope to talk about the new play I’m working on with Lisa Lacy of Images Theater in Sacramento, CA and of course health and wellness etc.  Be sure to tune in!
